Approximately 50% of unrestricted income is used for local charities and local branches of national charities whose work is with children, young people, families and the elderly, community cohesion, mental health and wellbeing, disability, asylum seekers and refugees, the homeless, unemployed, prisoners and those on probation and those in poverty

Race Cymru Wales
Race Cymru Wales works to promote art, heritage and cultural activities for black and ethnic minority communities in Wales. ABF supported their Crossing Borders project in Swansea.
‘Due to the funding received RCC was able to support the Crossing Borders Youth Group with well-being, motivational and educational workshops’
Faith in Families
Faith in Families services are run from 3 centres across Swansea, where a high percentage of the families experience the impact of living in deprivation. They support the local community by offering a variety of groups and projects, including Parent and Toddler groups, support groups, healthy lunch clubs, after school clubs, parenting groups, and back to work/education programmes. ABF have provided funding to all 3 centres for various projects over the years.
‘Thanks to the ABF we purchased art and craft materials to deliver a community art and craft / cookery group. Sessions will help to increase confidence, raise self esteem, improve mental health, reduce stress and provide options for further support and progression’
Women4Resources
Women4Resources are committed to providing women and girls with the resources they need to thrive individually and as part of a wider community.
‘This funding for the spring launch of our food growing project in partnership with Swansea Quakers and local asylum seekers and refugees, will allow us to work with a small group of women to prepare the raised beds, plant seeds and support our volunteers to grow food at home’
Surfability UK
Surfability provides surfing lessons and experiences at Caswell Bay for people with additional needs due to disability, injury or learning difficulties.
‘Thanks to our funding from ABF Surfability CIC UK has been able to invest in new inclusive equipment and PPE to increase inclusion in our lessons whilst keeping everyone safe at the same time. We now have 3 tandem seated surfboards and 2 beach wheelchairs, meaning we can include more people than ever before.’
Circus Eruption
Circus Eruption is a social circus project which provides circus workshops for children and young people who face various challenges such as those in care, living with disabilities, and refugees and asylum seekers. The aim is to help children grow in confidence and resilience through learning new skills and gain a sense of belonging.
